A West Monkseaton builder has won an award for his dedication to building homes of exceptional quality.
Tony Elwood, of Wimpey North East, won the award for his management of the West Park site in West Monkseaton, joining almost 450 other Quality Award winners from across the UK.
The award came in the first round of the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
As part of the year-long judging process, the winners will now be shortlisted for Seals of Excellence and regional titles, which will be revealed in the autumn.
The regional winners will then go forward to contest the national Supreme Winner title in their category at the Pride in the Job Gala Final in London in January.
The awards celebrate the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.
Regional director for NHBC Geoff Egginton said: “Congratulations to Tony, who should be commended for building homes of an outstanding standard in the region.
“For 36 years Pride in the Job Awards has played a pivotal role in NHBC’s work to raise standards across the industry through the celebration and sharing of best practice.
“Pride in the Job recognises site managers who produce the best quality new homes, built and finished to the highest possible standards.”
