A TYNESIDE hotel took to social networking to a new level this week to promote it’s new pub grub.
The Village Hotel in Cobalt Business Park held an Eat and Tweet night at their Victory Pub and a host of specially invited guests sampled their new menu and tweeted their thoughts, along with the pictures of the food.
As well as promoting the new menu it increased awareness of the hotel pub and was deemed a huge success by organisers.
Karen Dobson, Sales Manager at the hotel said: “This was our first Eat & Tweet Night at Village Newcastle, aimed at promoting our new British Classics Pub Menu.
“Everyone who attended thought it was a fabulous new idea and the activity on Twitter was amazing and we gained several new followers as a result.
“We will definitely be doing it again.”
Guests sampled some of the starters the pub offers, which were laid out in a buffet style, before tucking in to a main course of their choice, and all the while it was acceptable to have their phone out and interact with other people on Twitter.
The hashtag #EatandTweet was used by everyone involved in the event while tweeting, and allowed thousands of followers to see exactly what the pub had to offer from its menu.
