A North Tyneside company has been recognised for it’s commitment to the well-being off staff by picking up a health in the workplace award.
Wallsend’s CMR UK, based at the Silverlink, makes electrical and electronic wiring harnesses for power generation and marine engines.
The company has been commended for its commitment to better health and well-being of its 75-strong workforce after receiving the Simplyhealth Healthy Workplace award.
Provided by healthcare provider Simplyhealth, the awards recognise the contribution that UK organisations, in both the private and public sector, make to the welfare of their employees.
Winners of the award provide employees with a range of initiatives and benefits that help to keep their workforce motivated and healthy.
Maureen Jamieson, head of finance and HR at CMR UK, said: “We’re continually looking at ways to improve the health and well-being of our employees.
“New ideas have been introduced and we offer a range of health benefits, from the Simplyhealth Cash plans to flu jabs and monthly ‘Fruity Fridays’ among other things.”
Simplyhealth’s Howard Hughes added: “Congratulations to CMR UK on achieving Simplyhealth Healthy Workplace status and demonstrating that the health and well-being of its employees is fundamental.
“We run this award scheme because we want to recognise and encourage companies to care about the health of their people.
“We believe that companies can make a positive contribution to the health of our nation.”
