A new conference and business centre has officially opened after a champagne reception.

The Town Hall Chambers Conference and Business Centre, in High Street East, Wallsend, was officially opened by Mayor Norma Redfearn in front of local businesses and council officials.

The centre has been established in the former council town hall by Sovereign Adavo.

Mrs Redfearn said: “There is so much happening here in Wallsend and the conversion of the Town Hall into this fantastic, high-quality business venue is the latest in a series of significant improvements for the town.

“Wallsend is becoming a really vibrant place and I’m sure this new centre will be welcomed by the local business community.

“I am very impressed by the changes and improvements that Sovereign Adavo have made to create such a prestigious facility.”

The building has undergone extensive interior refurbishment which has been considered carefully and sympathetically by the new owners.

Sovereign Adavo said: “We are truly delighted that the event was such a success and we would like to thank all those that attended.

“We are pleased to have been part of the development that is ongoing in Wallsend which will be a direct benefit to the local community and businesses in the area.

“We now look forward to the future and seeing the centre welcoming new businesses.”
