AN EVENT is being held to help people faced with redundancy become their own boss.
A Franchise on the Tyne Exhibition 2011 is being hosted by North Tyneside Council-backed The Business Factory at the Saville Exchange in North Shields on Saturday, January 29, from 10am to 4pm.
The free event is a chance for people in search of a new career path to consider getting involved with a franchise, with information ranging from where to start, who to talk to and which franchise would be most suitable.
Deputy mayor Judith Wallace said: “There are many people who are looking for a change in direction when it comes to their career, and this exhibition could be the ideal opportunity for them.
“Whether someone’s looking for a new challenge at work, been made redundant or decided to retire, I would certainly urge them to check out what Franchise on the Tyne has to offer – it could turn out to be a life changing decision.”
The Business Factory, based on High Street West in Wallsend, aims to increase the number of new business start-ups in North Tyneside to help support a vibrant economic future for the borough and provide more jobs for local people.
It offers support both on a one-to-one basis and through workshops held in North Tyneside, providing access to enterprise coaching and intensive start-up support.
