An award-winning offshore manufacturer and training provider has been given a Royal seal of approval.
North Shields-based AIS have been formally presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the world’s most prestigious business accolade.

Her Majesty The Queen’s representative, the Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear Susan Winfield OBE handed over the award to managing director Paul Stonebanks after taking a tour of the company’s state-of-the-art offshore training village and manufacturing facility.
The award is in recognition of the company’s phenomenal business success in the UK and overseas, growing by 120 per cent over the last three years, creating more than 100 new jobs around the world.
Mrs Winfield said: “I’m delighted to hand over this award to AIS which is richly deserved.

“After a tour of the fantastic site, it’s clear so much has been achieved in just eight years. Everyone working at AIS should be extremely proud as they have all played their part in the company’s outstanding success.”
