A firm set up by two former doormen to provide security at establishments across the region has celebrated another successful year of growth.

T3 Security was launched by friends Peter Moore and Richard Townsend in 2012, initially supplying just two venues with staff.

Today, the company employs 100 staff and has a portfolio of more than 40 locations including Whitley Bay, North Shields, Wallsend and Blyth.

Turnover has also increased year on year, with further growth expected in the next financial year.

Richard, a dad-of-two, from Jarrow, said: “We’ve come a long way since we started three years ago and it’s a great feeling seeing our workforce and portfolio grow.

“We supply staff to venues in all corners of the region. Considering we started with two pubs on our books, that’s pretty impressive growth and we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved.”

Peter and Richard’s aim is to provide a professional service tailored to each establishment’s needs, and feel strongly about shrugging off the age-old image of the ‘bouncer’.

Father-of-three Peter, 35, from Longbenton, added: “We pride ourselves on the professional service we offer our clients.

“I’ve been in the industry for 17 years and it’s changed a lot in that time. When I first started, doormen didn’t have to have badges and they weren’t regulated or registered.

“Now it’s all changed for the better and we pride ourselves on doing everything by the book.”
