TWO teenage hikers from North Shields put their best foot forward in aid of wounded troops.

Callum Church, 14, of Cranbourne Grove, and Josh Harfoot, 15, of Hartington Road, raised £200 for Help for Heroes after walking 24 miles from Chollerford to Newburn following Hadrian’s Wall.

The Marden High School pupils took eight hours to complete the challenge.

Callum said: “The walk went really well and we both found it really enjoyable.

“We specifically did the event for Help for Heroes because Josh is interested in joining the armed forces when he gets older.

“We are thinking of doing more events similar to this, not only because it’s fun but because it’s all for a good cause.”
