Carers have been given a boost to support the person they care for.

North Tyneside Carers Centre held a New Year, New You day ahead of its AGM last week.

Activities included a demonstration of moving and handling to give carers the skills and confidence to support the person they care for.

Ian Bolton, from Well Handled, demonstrated handling a wheelchair and techniques.

Other activities included creative crafts and a session designed to help carers cope with stress and to develop relaxation techniques.

Centre manager Claire Easton spoke of another successful year for the centre, highlighting key achievements that had been made by both the Adult and Young Carers’ teams.
