Staff and volunteers at a community facility are throwing their support behind a campaign showcasing funding help.
The Linskill Centre, in North Shields, was turned into a popular facility thanks to the hard work of volunteers to secure the necessary funding to get it up and running.
Now they are showing their support for a campaign run by Power to Change, a charitable trust endowed with £150million by the Big Lottery Fund.
The trust is launching a new £10m Community Business Fund which will support existing community businesses to grow, increase their social impact and become more sustainable.
Recently the Linskill Centre celebrated a £120,000 expansion to its community café thanks to the support of Power to Change, providing eight new jobs, an apprenticeship and two volunteer roles.
Vidhya Alakeson, chief executive of Power to Change, said: “This simple campaign is about many community businesses, like The Linskill Centre, celebrating their success in making their local area a better place to live.
“Nobody knows better than the people living in a community what is best for them, which is why community businesses are thriving in the face of adversity.
“At Power to Change we are proud to launch our new £10m fund to support existing community businesses to continue to grow, prosper and to sustain themselves long into the future.”
