Thousands of people have visited a new service centre that opened in the heart of Whitley Bay this month.
The new Customer First Centre in York Road was opened by North Tyneside Council on April 2.
The £5.62m facility features a library, tourist information centre and customer service centre under one roof with additional facilities including self-service cash payment kiosks, self-service library issue machines, a Northumbria Police drop-in facility and Age UK information and advice.
And since its opening, more than 2,500 customers have passed through its doors.
The building will now be open all day on Wednesdays, rather than half day.
The project was delivered by Newcastle and North Tyneside Lift Co – a partnership between North Tyneside Primary Care Trust and North Tyneside Council.
