Visitors to a shopping centre are being invited to a tea dance with a difference.

Shoppers at the Forum Shopping Centre, in Wallsend, are being encouraged to put their dancing shoes on and sample coffee and homemade cakes.

The tea dance will take place on Saturday, August 1, between 11am and 1pm.

Local dance group Ceroc Newcastle, who hold classes at Wallsend Memorial Hall, will display their partner- dancing skills, while encouraging passers-by to get involved.

Popular Forum cafe, Mr Woods, is offering tea and coffee at a reduced price of £1.50, with 50p from every sale going to the centre’s chosen charity, RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People).

And there will be a chance to buy homemade cakes, donated by shoppers and shopkeepers at the Forum, to raise funds for RNIB.
