A borough charity is celebrating two milestones this month.
Angels of the North has donated £50,000 worth of goods in one month since the start of this year, and has helped 100 voluntary groups, other charities and organisations with donations of food, clothing and footwear for adults and children, books, knitwear, medical requisites, toys, energy-saving devices, crockery, cleaning products and other goods.
The charity’s honorary chief executive officer Barbara Connors-Fowler said : “We are continuing to meet our strategic intent to bring together people and organisations who have passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done.
“This is the best way to help to improve communities and individual lives in lasting and measurable ways.”
“Our charity is also a great help to many businesses that wish to deal responsibly with surplus stock by donating it to people in need through Angels of the North.”
