A WALLSEND charity is organising a fundraising fun day next month.

Proceeds will go to the Chris Lucas Trust, set up in memory of the Wallsend teenager of that name killed by cancer in 2000 just days after his 18th birthday.

Chris’s mum Lynn has added a fun day to the growing list of charity events she holds in her son’s memory.

Lynn said: “It’s a fun day for all the family.

“The whole family can take part in the one-mile circular charity walk around the Cobalt country park or they can take part in the seven-mile bike ride through the waggonways of North Tyneside.”

Amy Carroll, joint organiser of the event and community co-ordinator at Cobalt, said: “This ride will give people a great opportunity to see what the waggonways have to offer while raising money for charity.”

The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, March 24, starting at 10am at Cobalt Park in North Shields.

Entry will cost £6 per person.
