THE Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has launched a national lifeguard recruitment campaign and is looking for people who are interested in becoming lifeguards in North Tyneside.

The charity will again be providing the cover on the four beaches in the borough during the summer and they are now on the look-out for budding lifeguards who have the ability to spot dangers before they develop.

The lifeguards offer helpful advice, ensuring people have a safe and enjoyable visit to the seaside.

The minimum age for applicants is 16 and candidates must have a high level of fitness.

RNLI lifeguards earn a competitive rate of pay and can work up to 48 hours per week.

The charity will be running inductions for successful candidates between March 23 to April 7, May 13 to May 24 and July 2 to July 13.
