Singers are being sought to join choirs at carol concerts during the festive season and help raise cash for worthy local causes.

Whitley Bay-based umbrella charity Angels of the North has organised six concerts in Eldon Square shopping centre throughout December.

And now the charity is on the look out for singers to join choirs at the events on:

n  Thursday, December 5, from 10am to noon;

n  Thursday, December 19, from 2pm to 4pm;

n  Friday, December 20, from 2pm to 4pm;

n  Saturday, December 21, from noon to 4pm;

n  Monday, December 23, from 2pm to 6pm;

n  Tuesday, December 24, from 10am to 2pm.

Proceeds of all six events will go entirely to local charities.

The charity’s honorary chief executive officer Barbara Connors-Fowler said: “We have organised for choirs to perform during the concert and help to raise money.

“There are still opportunities for more singers to take part, and it is a great way of raising money all while getting into the festive spirit.”
