Charity to create anniversary film

Barnardo’s North East is celebrating 30 years of offering training and apprenticeships to young people in North Tyneside this month by making a film about it.

Palmersville Training, a Barnardo’s project on the North Tyne Industrial Estate in Whitley Road, Benton, began offering training and apprenticeships in 1990, but from June 1983, the charity offered training to young people through its South Parade Youth Training Scheme in Whitley Bay.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Palmersville has teamed up with Red Earth and Pouring Rain, to make a film celebrating and documenting the achievements of the project and its youngsters.

The film will be shown at a celebration event in October.
