Staff from branches of One Stop across the north east took part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, which has provided support to a manager’s son.

Four-year-old Finley Brians, whose father Richie is the store manager of One Stop in Burradon, was diagnosed with leukaemia in April of last year and is undergoing treatment.

Staff walked from Blyth to Tynemouth, some dressed in onesies, and one carried a 16kg weight on his back.

Richie, 25, of Dudley, said: “It’s fantastic that Finley has got through the worse part of his treatment and we’re all hoping he continues to improve.

“The support of the One Stop staff has been brilliant and hopefully this walk will raise a lot of money for CLIC Sargent.”

Dee Tyler, CLIC Sargent area fundraising manager, said: “The family have been through an awful lot over the last year and it’s great to know that the staff at One Stop are continuing to show their support by raising money for CLIC Sargent.

“The money raised will help CLIC Sargent provide vital services including providing nurses and care professionals at the RVI and Freeman Hospital, giving grants to help families meet extra costs and offering holidays.”
