A NEW face is on the beat in Wallsend.

Pc Chris Blyth has been appointed Neighbourhood Beat Manager for Howdon after seven years with Northumbria Police, where he has worked in North Tyneside in a 24/7 response policing role in Wallsend and Forest Hall.

Pc Blyth, pictured, said: “I’m pleased to join the neighbourhood team and I’m enjoying getting to know the residents in Howdon as well as making contact with local business people and other partner agencies.

“I already know the area well and am working to build on this knowledge to get a better picture of the main policing issues so I can help local people.

“With this I aim to target individuals and groups who may be responsible for crime and disorder in the Howdon area.

“My role is to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and be a recognisable local face of policing in the area.”

Anyone with concerns about crime or disorder should call 03456 043043 ext 69191.
