College bosses are keen to bring in two new people to help shape the future of education in the borough.
TyneMet College, in Wallsend, is looking to bring in one or two new governors who can bring something new to the educational facility and help it continue to grow.
Chair of governors Bill Midgely said the role would prove satisfying and ideally they are looking for one person with a business background and another with an educational background.
He said: “Governors are there to ensure the college is being run in line with the strategy the board sets.
“We want someone who is passionate about North Tyneside, wants to get involved and is committed to education.
“I think they will find being a governor quite rewarding. We want someone who can bring something extra to the board. We want to find the right bodies.”
The college has 18 governors, although five are college representatives, and any potential candidate would need to give up to five hours of their time a month.
