A North Shields-based training firm has added three more offshore courses to its portfolio of specialist training and competency testing.
Mechanical joint integrity, hydrogen sulphide awareness and chartek fire proofing are the latest offshore skills available at AIS Training’s state-of-the-art skills complex in North Shields.
Paul Stonebanks, managing director of AIS Group, said: “We hope these new courses will go some way to plugging the offshore skills gap and boosting the overall competency of workers.
“Skills shortages still exist offshore and we are currently working closely with the oil and gas industry to ensure we deliver the training the sector needs to combat these shortages.
“We have invested more than £3m into new facilities including a world-class offshore survival centre, hotel and bespoke CompEx electrical training centre.”
