Photographers are being invited to enter a competition capturing the best of North Tyneside.

Residents are being asked to submit their photographs of places, communities and people.

Categories include parks and open spaces, communities, heritage, beaches, and out and about.

The competition by North Tyneside Council closes on July 3. For more visit www.northtyneside.gov.uk

The best photographs will be featured in a campaign launching later this year to celebrate what makes North Tyneside a great place to live, work and visit.

Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “We ran a photography competition in Whitley Bay last year and were overwhelmed with the response – more than 100 images were received.”

“This year we want to capture photographs of the outstanding parks, beaches and places across the entire borough. I’m sure our residents will once again produce some stunning images of North Tyneside.”
