A group of singers are hoping to hit the right note as they go on a spring tour.

Beaconsfield Operatic Society, based in Blyth, are currently taking part in their annual spring tour – taking in Amble, Lynemouth and Blyth among other places.

They will be visiting St John’s Methodist Church in Whitley Bay on Saturday at 4.30pm for a concert entitled Magical Musicals.

The programme comprises songs from many well-known shows and films with the theme of ‘magic’.

Admission is £5, which includes tea, scones and cakes.

The concert is to raise funds towards Beaconsfield’s annual production, which this year is Sister Act.

Susan Smith, the musical director, said: “It is always a delight to bring Beaconsfield’s concert to St John’s, my home church.

“We always get a warm reception and we are looking forward to a fun afternoon.”

Tickets need to be pre-booked and are available through St John’s church via 07960 180073.
