A couple who run a hard of hearing organisation have been given an award for their work.
The Age Takes Centre Stage Awards, run by Age UK, presented a series of awards to local individuals and groups who were nominated by members of the public.
The awards are in recognition of people who volunteer many hours of their time and effort for people and projects in the community for the over 50s.
Judith and Gerry Daniels were ‘Highly Commended’ for running the HoHo (Hard of Hearing Organisation).
They also send out Newsletters, meet with the group for lunch at a variety of venues, they even raise money for HoHo by holding events in their own home.
Their tireless effort is appreciated by all who attend and it was for that reason that Denise Kennedy nominated them for the award.
Judith and Gerry were not able to attend the awards ceremony that day as the HoHo were meeting for lunch, so Denise presented the award to them at a HoHo meeting.
