Creative students in the borough put their talents on show to create new designs for a company.

Graphic design students at the Creative Studios, based at TyneMet College’s Queen Alexandra campus, created logos for Northern Oak Credit Union Ltd.

John Knox, 20, from North Shields, produced a design which will be used as the corporate logo while Monica Costa, 31, from North Shields, created a design the company will use for its anti-loan shark promotional materials.

Dr Paul Harvey, programme leader at the studios, said: “John and Monica’s designs were of a very high standard and they were both delighted that their designs were chosen.”

Dave Hall, chief officer at Northern Oak Credit Union Ltd, said: “We were delighted with the standard of design work, which was exceptionally high and we had real difficulty in choosing a winner.”
