A SONY laptop computer and television were among a haul worth hundreds of pounds stolen from a house in Benton.
The burglary was carried out at an address in Williams Park on Thursday, December 15, at 5.43pm, but was cut short after an alarm was set off.
A watch, Diesel jeans, Samsung digital camera and jewellery were also taken.
Detective Inspector Neil Brotherton said: “We’re asking people to be vigilant and to contact police if they see anyone hanging around their neighbourhood who appears to be acting suspiciously.
“Officers are also carrying out additional patrols in areas affected by burglaries.”
