Murder accused refuses to appear in court

The man accused of murder after a fight broke out in North Shields over the weekend refused to appear in court this morning.

Christopher Carr is accused of killing James Roderick Ineson, after a fight at Jaycroft Court in North Shields in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Carr, 38, of Byewell Grove in Shiremoor was due to appear before North Tyneside Magistrates today, but refused to come up to court from his cell.

Magistrates remanded him in custody until his next court appearance at Newcastle Crown court on Tuesday September 17.

Mr Ineson was taken to the RVI hospital following the altercation at 5.20am on Sunday September 1 with a serious head injury, but died on Monday evening.
