Teenager is attacked by gang while walking dog

A SCHOOLGIRL has been assaulted and robbed as she walked her dog in Whitley Bay.

The 14-year-old was walking home with the animal across Whitley Bay High School field at 9.30pm on Tuesday, July 26, when she was approached by three unknown girls.

They verbally abused and assaulted the teenager and stole her mobile phone.

One of the attackers is described as white, around 16 years of age and about 5ft 4in tall.

She was wearing a red hooded top with a white logo and writing on the front, and baggy grey jogging bottoms.

She is described as wearing a lot of make-up, having dark brown hair with extensions and spoke with a local accent.

Another attacker was described as white, also around 16 years of age, 5ft 3in tall and of a slim build.

She had shoulder length, dark brown hair and was wearing a white vest top with a light grey cardigan and black leggings.

She was also wearing chestnut coloured Ugg boots.
