A day of events and activities are taking place to help save lives at sea.
Tynemouth RNLI Lifeboat Station is holding its annual Lifeboat Day on North Shields Fish Quay and expected to draw in the crowds.
It will take place on Sunday, July 20, from 11am to 3pm.
The fun day out includes lifeboats in action, stalls, attractions, children’s rides, burgers, hot dogs, the famous kippers in a bun, and a motorcycle rally and exhibition in the nearby Low Lights car park, organised by the Quay Motorcycle Club.
David Stenhouse, Tynemouth RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: “Lifeboat Day is a great opportunity for members of the public and their families to come and find out what their local RNLI station does, see the volunteer lifeboat crew in action, and have some fun at the same time.
“Just by coming along and joining in, visitors will also be helping us to raise much-needed funds to keep the lifeboats running and raise public awareness of the vital life-saving service the RNLI provides, all funded from public generosity.”
