I could add to the ongoing discussion about the new road layout and traffic lights in Earsdon Road i.e. they’re ill-conceived and create traffic problems at peak times, but I won’t as it’s stating the obvious.
What did catch my eye was the letter from David Clark (News Guardian, May 29) and the plight of the cyclist.
Whenever there are new road layouts introduced, cycle paths should be included as a standard as the average cyclist, just like David highlighted, is taking their life in their hands on a busy road and should be given a safer route to follow.
I know there are those who would then say that cyclists never use them, but I say this as a cyclist who does and would prefer the wrath of the pedestrian rather than contending with the manic rush hour car drivers.
