Cycle way welcome but not enough

THE new cycle layout on the seafront is welcome, but why is it only a short distance?

Why not utilise the marked off no entry zones along the front, and the area in front of Beaconsfield, as an example, put the cycle track next to walkway and no overtaking lines in centre of road, thereby using the now ‘dead’ space?

Walkers can walk safer, cyclists will have the path and motorists will be in a single safe line.

From The Links to The Gibraltar pub in Tynemouth there are many areas where this could, at no great cost, be done.
