Have your say

Residents are being reminded to have their say on NHS urgent care services before a consultation period closes.

Consultation is taking place over plans to improve urgent care provision in North Tyneside.

Four potential options have been drawn up – a single urgent care centre at North Tyneside General Hospital; a single centre at Battle Hill; a single centre at the hospital, support by three services in Killingworth, Wallsend and Whitley Bay; or a single centre at Battle Hill supported by centres in Killingworth, North Shields and Whitley Bay.

The consultation ends on January 21. For more visit www.northtynesideccg.nhs.uk/urgentcare or call 0191 217 2670.

Dr Shaun Lackey, North Tyneside GP and chair of the Urgent Care Working Group, said: “Hundreds of people have already shared their views and we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to have their say.”

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve healthcare services for people in North Tyneside.

“As part of this process, we recently began a review into local urgent care services.”
