Inspector Janice Caryl described the quality of teaching as outstanding and the indoor and outdoor areas as vibrant and stimulating.

She was particularly impressed with the children’s excellent progress in their learning and development, the exceptional partnerships between parents and staff and the individualised care that the nursery provides to each child.

Carole Robinson, nursery manager at Kids 1st Rake Lane for 11 years, said: “At Kids 1st Rake Lane we are a family and we work as a team to develop the nursery to provide the best care and education for the children.

“To see that it has been recognised by Ofsted is fantastic.”

Allison Winship, head of childcare at Kids 1st, said: “This is a great achievement for the team at Kids 1st Rake Lane; it is very difficult to achieve an outstanding Ofsted report and we would like to thank the whole team for their commitment to providing the highest quality of care.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the inspirational staff team at Rake Lane over the last 11 years; the nursery has continued to go from strength-to-strength and it is very rewarding to hear the success stories of the children that have been to the nursery over the years.”

At the end of 2014, Kids 1st was named the ‘Highest Quality Childcare Provider in the UK’ by Nursery World for the fourth consecutive year.
