A NORTH Shields canine training club has just missed out on being named as top dog in a national competition.
The K9 Academy dog training club came runner-up in the listed status club category at the Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme Training Awards in London.
The awards recognise the efforts of organisations nationwide in helping to train dogs and educate their owners about their responsibilities.
Kennel Club chairman Steve Dean said: “The winners have all done marvellous work in promoting responsible dog ownership and all deserve a huge vote of thanks.
“We are grateful for their enthusiasm and dedication and offer our appreciation for helping us make a positive difference for dogs and their owners.”
