Drink lovers are set for a treat when a festival returns this weekend.

The popular Whitley Bay Beer Festival is returning for its fourth year.

The three-day event will take place at Rockcliff Rugby Club, in Lovaine Avenue, Whitley Bay.

There will be more than 35 beers and ciders on offer and, for the first time, a range of 17 different gins.

The popular event will kick off at 5pm on Friday.

It will then be open from noon to late on Saturday and from noon to 11pm on Sunday.

A range of local breweries – including Mordue Brewery, Cullercoats Brewery, Anarchy Brew and Errant Brewery – have backed the event and will be in attendance with their beers and ciders.

Local musicians have also got involved with The Fontains headlining on Friday night and The Blistered Mollies on Saturday.

Attendees will also be able to taste a wide choice of street food on offer.
