The Air Training Corps’ 1151 (Wallsend) Squadron has honoured former cadet Edmund Hall for service on its civilian committee stretching back almost 50 years, on and off.

Mr Hall joined the squadron in 1947 as a cadet and returned to the unit in 1968 to join its civilian committee.

Three years later, he moved on to 131 (City of Newcastle) Squadron as a member of its committee, but in 2014, he returned to the Wallsend squadron’s committee.

His many years of service have now been rewarded by the presentation of a certificate of meritorious service, awarded by Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, commandant of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, and presented by Flt/Lt Nigel Yarrow, the officer commanding the Wallsend squadron.
