AN EVENT is being held to give more information about cancer, especially for people with a learning disability.
The Learning Disabilities Federation and Macmillan Cancer Support have teamed up to help spread the message about how to cope and deal with cancer.
They have created ‘Cancer: What’s going to happen to me?’ which they hope will become a valuable communication resource in cancer medicine, used in primary, secondary and tertiary care.
The two organisations are launching the publication at the Linskill Centre, Linskill Terrace, North Shields, on Tuesday, March 22.
The event will run from 11am to 2pm with the formal launch at 12.30pm.
There will be exhibitors from health and social care, a workshop on diet and nutrition, aromatherapy taster sessions and smoking cessation support.
