Event will help tee up advice for new business leaders

Residents are being given the chance to learn more about self employment at a free event next week.

North Tyneside Business Factory is hosting the event at Tynemouth Golf Club on Thursday, September 19, and will give people a chance to talk to advisers about starting a business in the borough.

It starts at 5.30pm with a free buffet and talk by inspirational speaker and sports psychology expert Nic Pidgeon.

The event will also raise money for Cullercoats RNLI through a raffle on the night.

Coun Frank Lott, cabinet member responsible for economic development, said: “The Business Factory has a very impressive track-record and over the past 18 months has helped more than 450 businesses start up here.

“It has a great team of advisers on hand to sit down and give sensible, practical advice tailored to people’s individual needs.

“So if you think that you could have your own business, but you’re concerned about taking the first steps, then this event could just be what you need.”
