Former students at a Wallsend school are preparing to head back to the classroom to inspire the latest generation of learners.
Churchill Community College is one of several schools in the north east to have signed up to Back to School Week – which starts on Monday.
The campaign, run by education charity Future First, aims to highlight the many benefits of a thriving, engaged alumni network.
Alumni are already going back into the classroom to add valuable insight in specialist subjects or to use their experience alongside careers staff to prepare students for the working world through assemblies and workshops.
They also act as role models, motivating students, building their confidence and providing advice and key decision points, helping prove to students that ‘someone like me’ can succeed and prosper.
