Expensive mountain bike stolen from garage

A VALUABLE mountain bike has been stolen from a garage in North Tyneside.

Thieves entered the rear garden of the house in Wallsend and got into the garage through an insecure door overnight between 10.30pm on Sunday, August 14, and 5.50am on Monday, August 15.

Once inside the building they stole a mountain bike valued at £900.

It is described as a Whyte 805, is white coloured with green and black markings, with rock-shock forks and 21 speed gears 2011.

Officers have carried out house to house enquiries and are appealing for anyone who may be offered the bike for sale to contact police.

They are also reminding householders to make sure they lock their doors and windows, especially overnight to prevent burglars from getting in to their property.
