Hundreds of items of counterfeit clothing have been given to charity.

More than 350 items displaying fake designer brands, seized by North Tyneside Council’s trading standards team, were given to the charity His Church to be distributed to homeless charities and shelters.

We’re delighted to have been able to help put this counterfeit clothing to good use.

The goods, valued at around £50,000, included trainers, T-shirts, and coats, and were recovered after a raid at a house in Wallsend. All the fake logos were removed.

Senior trading standards officer Dave Hedley said: “We’re delighted to have been able to help put this counterfeit clothing to good use.

“Once it has been rebranded by His Church, the clothing will go to people who will really benefit from it.”
