A CHARITY which supports people in the borough has announced its first public patron.
High Borrans Outdoor Education Centre, based in the Lake District, is used by North Tyneside Council for its variety of activities and outdoor experiences.
And now the Friends of High Borrans, set up by last year, has announced Newcastle Falcon flanker Mark Wilson will be a patron.
Alex Giles, chair of the Friends of High Borrans, said: “We are delighted Mark has agreed to come on board and be our first public Patron.
“He has a keen interest in Cumbria and outdoor activities and he will be helping raise awareness of the centre and the full range of activities that are available.
“The Friends has been created to support the work of High Borrans and aims to help develop the Centre in years to come.”
High Borrans has been providing courses for groups since 1967, with an estimated 200,000 North Tyneside citizens passing through its doors in that time.
