Three generations of a family are gearing up for an epic challenge to help a charity close to their hearts.

Pam Davison, of Blyth, will be in the Great North Run on Sunday in her wheelchair, being pushed by her son-in-law Shaun Helme, of North Shields.

And her 11-year-old grand-daughter Ella Mae Helme will be taking part in the Junior Great North Run the day before.

They are raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Research and Relief Fun, which is raising funds for a hydro-therapy pool at its premises at Benmar House in Morpeth.

Pam, who suffers from MS, thanked all those who had so far donated. To sponsor them visit www.justgiving.com/Leslie-Davison
