A MUM is holding a charity night to raise money for a cause that is close to her heart.

Faye Macleod is organising a charity night at Noir Drinks Lounge in Whitley Bay in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The 32-year-old decided to support the charity as she has lost a number of family members to the disease, including her mum Della Henderson, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in January last year.

Della was meant to be joining Faye at the charity night but she sadly died in April, aged 60.

Faye, of Waterloo Road in Wellfield, Whitley Bay, is mum to Lauren, aged nine, Cameron, aged four, and two-year-old Liam.

She said: “My mum’s wish was to be at home when she died, and without people like the Macmillan nurses that would not be able to happen.

“I just think they are amazing and they get overlooked a lot. They are just wonderful people.”

The event takes place on Saturday, June 1, and will start at 7.30pm.

It will include live music, entertainment and a raffle.

Tickets are £5 and are available by calling Faye on 07557 769680.
