Festival still on for Saturday despite rain

A MUSIC event planned for Wallsend this weekend will still go ahead – despite the poor weather forecast.

The Event @ Segedunum – for 11 to 19-year-olds – will be held in the grounds of Segedunum Roman Fort and Baths will be held on Saturday, July 7, from noon to 5pm.

In the event of heavy rain, it will move to an indoor venue in Wallsend. People should still attend Segedunum Roman Fort and Baths where stewards would give details of the revised location.

The Event @ Segedunum has been organised by North Tyneside Council, in partnership with Tyne & Wear Museums & Archives.

The confirmed bands are:

• Big Figure;

• Cal Fraser;

• Correction House;

• Fired;

• Hakara;

• High Rollers;

• Katy Wright;

• Lisbon;

• The Mojags;

• Simon Evans;

• Street Party in Soho;

• Swiss Alpine Club.

Wristbands, priced £3, are available from North Tyneside’s sports centres, including Hadrian Leisure Centre, Tynemouth Pool, Waves Whitley Bay, The Lakeside Centre, Killingworth, Marden Bridge Sports Centre, Whitley Bay and The Parks Sports Centre, North Shields.
