Film company is helping charity

A youth film company is shooting a new film in the borough that aims to raise awareness of a local charity.

Act 2 Cam is filming for their new film, Failbook, and is inviting young people aged 11 to 16, and adults aged 20 to 60 from across the north east, to perform in the film at Norham High School, North Shields, until April 19.

I believe there is a wealth of undiscovered talent in North Tyneside; I can’t wait to meet our new actors.

Producer Stephen Woods

Any proceeds from Failbook will go towards North East Hearts with Goals’ North Tyneside schools defibrillator campaign.

The charity places lifesaving defibrillators throughout the local area and raises awareness surrounding Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Producer Stephen Woods said: “Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone regardless of age, gender or fitness, and this theme runs throughout our new film.

“This theme, and the shocking statistic that 15 young people in the UK die each week as a result of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, encouraged Act 2 Cam to become involved with the charity.

“I believe there is a wealth of undiscovered talent in North Tyneside; I can’t wait to meet our new actors.”

The current project is looking for 100 young people and ten adults from the region to take on the role as a background artist.

It is free to take part and no experience is necessary.
