Final push as centre appeals for votes to receive £10k grant

A centre is appealing for one final push as it looks to secure a funding boost.

The Linskill Centre in North Shields has been shortlisted for a £10,000 grant from the Aviva Community Fund towards the refurbishment of its community hall and needs public support to help secure the grant.

The refurbishment project will involve new double glazing, new lighting, re-plastering and redecoration of the hall, which will transform the community space.

Anyone who resides in the UK and registers on the Aviva Community Fund website will receive ten votes to support local projects.

The centre already has 1,800 votes and is hoping to build on this and secure the grant to transform the hall that will benefit more than 10,000 people per year.

Voting closes on May 30. Anyone who wants to vote should visit https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/806/

The projects with the most votes will go through to a judging panel. Winners will be announced on June 29.
