A Whitley Bay agency is helping to combat food poverty in the North Tyneside.
First Class Supply, which provides supply teachers, has partnered with The Bay Church for the initiative, which will see it collect donations for The BAY Foodbank.
The foodbank provides emergency food provision to individuals or families experiencing a financial crisis.
Lesley Robinson, director at First Class Supply, said: “Food poverty is becoming a serious problem for families up and down the country and we are delighted to be working with The Bay Foodbank to help aid the cause.
“The Bay Foodbank does so much work in the community and is a wonderful charity, and we are more than happy to do our bit and collect donations.
“This will hopefully go a long way in helping to tackle the food poverty crisis.”
Jackie Dickinson, from The BAY Foodbank, said: “We provide short term emergency food provision for individuals or families experiencing financial crisis. We only accept referrals from churches, doctors, social services or other statutory agencies.”
