A BOROUGH business has been shortlisted for a prestigious prize in the National Fish and Chip Awards 2013.
Pantrini’s, with outlets in Whitley Bay and North Shields, has been selected for the Marketing and Innovation category of the awards organised by Seafish.
Owner Sarah Taylor said: “To be shortlisted has been great for Pantrini’s.
“Everyone has stepped up their game up and we’re ready for the next stage.
“The competition is of a very high standard but we welcome the challenge.”
Award-winning Pantrini’s will be up against nine other semi-finalists.
At this stage the aim is to become one of three to compete in the final round of judging and be crowned overall winner of the category at an awards ceremony to be held at London’s Lancaster Hotel in January.
The three finalists will be announced early September.
Nikki Hawkins, food service and events manager at Seafish, said: “The UK’s fish and chip shops are a national institution and these shortlisted businesses have been recognised for their highly professional attitude to business promotion and the quality of their marketing and innovative thinking, setting a great example across the industry.”
