Age UK North Tyneside is hosting a ‘Jubilee by the sea’ celebration event to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
It will take place on Wednesday, May 31, from 10am to noon at their Whitley Bay Centre, in Park Road, Whitley Bay.
There will be memorabilia and archive materials dating back to the 1950s from the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.
And there is a chance to knit a jubilee ‘mug hug’ as well as trying proggy mat making.
The free event also includes refreshments.
Entertainment will be provided by Little Acorns who will be singing songs from 1953.
Age UK North Tyneside’s Charly Mulvaney said: “The morning will be a good chance for people to come together, share memories and listen to stories and perhaps try their luck with our 1950s quiz.”
